Women of Distinction Magazine promotes the success of professional women and creates a rich community for these women to thrive in. One of the most empowering arenas of success lies in literature. Some of the greatest authors throughout time have been women. At Women of Distinction Magazine, we have had the honor to feature plenty of talented women writers, and been able to give them the necessary platform to be heard.
A featured author in the Women of Distinction Magazine Community is Mary Kay Rich, author of the critically acclaimed book “You’re It!” “You’re It!” focuses on the idea of,
“you are not the center of your universe. We’re all unique, there is no one else in the world like you. You are the only person who will be with you every day of your life, from the moment you are born until the last breath you take.”
This introspective book will make you laugh, cry, and reminisce. The point of this is to learn creative attitudes and free yourself from toxic behaviors. Readers will feel motivated and want to stretch and grow towards a more successful self. Applying the principals “You’re It!” into your own life can replace fear with faith and comfort.
Cynthia Fabain, who currently resides in New Jersey, spent most of her life as an English teacher. No longer in teaching, she continues to help children cope with the many obstacles in their lives. Her hope is to help children and their families find happiness and acceptance through literature. Ms. Fabian is the author of “Erica’s Tripod”, a book about a girl with muscular dystrophy. Typically a difficult concept to explain to young people, “Erica’s Tripod” helps ease the process. Muscular dystrophy is a degenerative muscular disease where the muscles of the body get weaker, break down and eventually stop working. Erica is a young woman who suffers from muscular dystrophy and struggles with day-to-day problems. She learns to manage these day-to-day problems with the help of her dog Tripod. Tripod too, like Erica has challenges of her own, but overcomes them with great success. Cynthia Fabian teaches us what it’s like to live with such difficulties.
Women in literature have evolved over time, starting in the Victorian period, and continued into modern writing. It is said that female writers always write with feminine awareness in mind. Women of Distinction Magazine helps support this by creating an environment of free expression and a place to help women guide other women through the power of literature.
At Women of Distinction we aim to continue this tradition of strengthening women writers. Our goal is have everyone tell their story, inspire others, and help women achieve all of their hopes and dreams.
